Announcement of competition for the production of a short video from students for Safer Internet with subject “Discover the digital world together…safely!”
Under the Cyprus Safer Internet Center, Cyberethics program in collaboration with its partners the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute and CYTA, announces a competition for the production of short videos for safer internet under the Safer Internet Day 2012 theme "Discover the digital world together...safely!". This theme has been decided by the Insafe members to be the focus of the next Safer Internet Day 2012 (7 February 2012).
The videos that will be chosen will be presented during the events and activities for the safer use of the Internet and will be utilized for educational purposes.
The interested schools/participants can submit their participation until the 19th of December 2011, Monday, 8:00 am, in the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute's page http://www.e-epimorfosi.ac.cy at the announcements section, while sending the video in .wmv, .flv or .mp4 format with the attached participation form.
The video can address children, teenagers, adults and its length should be maximum 3 minutes. The video should mention the participants, school and theme of the competition. Every school is allowed to submit as many videos as they wish to this competition. Every team should consist of a teacher, and maximum 3 students.
The evaluation of the videos will be conducted by a five member committee that will include a member of CNTI, a member of CPI, a member of CYTA, a representative of the Secondary education and a representative from the Secondary Technical and Professional education.
The best three participations will be awarded a tablet Asus EEE Pad TF101-1B100A (per student). All prizes are offered by CYTA. The results of this competition will be announced at the end of January 2012.
