The University of Cyprus promotes CyberEthics
Dr. Joseph Joseph, Professor of International Relations and European Affairs at the University of Cyprus, announced to his students the involvement of his Department in a European project known as CyberEthics. CyberEthics is the Awareness Node for the promotion of safer Internet in Cyprus. The University of Cyprus is partner is the campaign, which will run until 31/8/2008. The campaign leader is the Cyprus Neuroscience & Technology Institute. Other partners are: The Family Planning Association and the Turkish Cypriot NGO Olive Branch Foundation.
The Awareness Node operates in parallel with a Hotline, where people can report what they consider illegal or disturbing content on the net. The Hotline collaborates with the newly established Cyber Crime unit of the Police.
Interested students were encouraged to engage in the project and consider the subject for their semester projects.
