Another Safer Internet Fair took place in September at My Mall Limassol where CyberEthics partners and the Cyber Crime Unit of the Police distributed informational material on online dangers and safety. During the Fair people were given the opportunity to do a quiz and test their knowledge on online safety issues.
Safer Internet Training
On the 12th of July 2013 a training course was organized by the CyberEthics team focusing on Online Dangers and Safety. The training lasted for two days and was held at Navaria Hotel, Limassol. The training engaged 19 participants; professionals of Social Sciences and IT.
Online Dangers and Online Safety Presentations and Workshops
During November, the CyberEthics team in collaboration with the Cyprus Youth Board organized parallel presentations and workshops on Online Dangers and Safety in three districts; Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos.
The presentations and workshops were organized within the context of a national drawing competition and the students were invited to present their personal views on online dangers and safety through their drawings. An evaluation committee will collect and examine the drawings and the winners of each district will be announced at a special event organized.
The project is co-funded by the European Union, through the Safer Internet programme.

YOUNG COACHES CAMPAIGN!
The Young Coaches Campaign was officially launched in November 2013. The CyberEthics team (CPI, CNTI and PCCPWC) in collaboration with Microsoft and YOUNG VOLUNTEERS organized an Information Day in order to provide the 16 selected schools with details about the Campaign. During the Campaign students from 16 schools across the island (spreading across four districts) will be trained to become trainers on online dangers and safety. The Young Coaches will then have the responsibility to train their peers, their parents and/or their own communities about online safety. All the partners involved in the Campaign, will support the young coaches throughout the year.
CYBERETHICS STAKEHOLDERS INFO DAY
On the 25th of September 2013 the CyberEthics consortium organized a national info day at the premises of the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute in Nicosia. The info day's aim was to inform key public and private stakeholders of the Cyprus Safer Internet Center and its activities. During the day, a discussion among all participants took place, at which all attendees were invited to collaborate with the Cyprus Safer Internet Center to raise its visibility and enhance the services offered to the public.
SAFER INTERNET FESTIVAL
On the 27th of July 2013, CyberEthics organized a Safer Internet Festival, at Castle Square, Limassol. During the Festival, CyberEthics volunteers interacted with the public through the performance of a mini theatrical show which focused on sexting. Additionally, there was a live link from Choice FM radio with the show of Demetris Tzemertzoglis covering the whole event. A graffiti show by the young artist Christos Kyriakou entertained the public producing two graffiti; one on online dangers and another on online safety. In parallel, videos on online dangers and online safety were displayed on a big screen.
At the Safer Internet Festival, supporters (Cyber Crime Unit of the Police, Cyprus Youth Clubs and No Hate Speech), actively participated at the event. CyberEthics partners and the Cyber Crime Unit of the Police distributed informational material and responded to questions on online dangers and safety. Furthermore, the public participated at a competition by filling out a questionnaire on online safety. At the end of the event the winning participants were announced and awarded.
Safer Internet Forum
This year's Safer Internet Forum was held in Brussels on the 17th and 18th of October. Cyprus was represented by the teenager Christodoulos Karkas and his father Mr. George Karkas. The Safer Internet Forum is a key annual international conference in Europe where key stakeholders come together to discuss the latest trends, risks and solutions related to child online safety. The European Commission, under the Safer Internet Programme and as part of the European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children, is organizing and funding the Safer Internet Forum. The forum slogan for 2013 was Better Internet with YOU(th).
Best Content For Kids Competition
The Cyprus Safer Internet Center promoted the Best Content for Kids Competition on online safety that was organized by the European Commission and Insafe. The competition ran from May 2013. Children, adults, professionals and non-professionals from all over Europe were invited to create new or highlight already existing child-friendly, quality online content. The winners of each country will compete at a European level, at which an EU Committee will decide for the winners that will be announced on Safer Internet Day 2014!

Insafe and all Safer Internet Centers, are all preparing for the upcoming Safer Internet Day that will take place on the 11th of February 2014. The slogan for this year's Safer Internet Day will be "Let's create a better Internet together".
